Bio:
Damien Chazelle (born Damien Sayre Chazelle in Providence, Rhode Island on January 19, 1985) always knew he wanted to be involved in the arts. After a brief stab at music in high school, Damien focused on filmmaking and graduated from Harvard University in 2007. He wrote and directed Guy And Madeline On A Park Bench in 2009 before blowing audiences away with his first feature length directorial debut Whiplash starring Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons. His following movie, La La Land with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone has garnered accolades and as emerged as an awards front-runner. On Feb. 26, 2017, Damien won the Oscar for Best Director for La La Land and became the youngest to ever receive the honor.
