Chelsea Peretti (born Chelsea Vanessa Peretti on February 20, 1978 in Oakland, California) is an American stand-up comedian, actress and writer. Chelsea grew up in Oakland, attending the College Preparatory School before moving to New York in 1996 to attend Barnard College. After gradating, she appeared in short films along with Variety SHAC, a comedy troupe. In order to pursue her career in stand-up and acting, she moved to Los Angeles. Chelsea has made notable appearances on television series like Louie, The Sarah Silverman Program, Kroll Show and Tosh.0. Chelsea contributed a voice to the Adult Swim show, China, IL. She made Variety’s Ten Comics To Watch in 2010. As a writer, Chelsea is credited as a creative writer on six episodes of the hit sitcom, Parks and Recreation. In 2013, Chelsea was cast as Gina Linetti on Fox’s breakout hit, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She is also known for having one of the best Twitter feeds, earning praise from Time magazine for her tweets in 2013. In addition to her television and movie roles, Chelsea is a noted podcast guest, appearing on Doug Loves Movies, How Did This Get Made, and Comedy Bang Bang. In 2012, she started her own call-in podcast, Call Chelsea Peretti.

Her brother is Buzzfeed and Huffington Post co-founder Jonah Peretti.
