Bo Derek (born Mary Cathleen Collins on November 20, 1956 in Long Beach, California) is an American actress and model. She attended Narbonne High School, but became romantically involved with actor and director John Derek. When Bo was 16, she and John, who was 30, moved to Germany to live together. They returned to the US in 1976 when she was 20 and were married. By that year, Bo had been given a makeover and was rechristened Bo Derek. She caught the eye of Michael Anderson, who cast her in the 1997 horror movie, Orca. Bo’s iconic role came in 1979, when she starred in the romantic comedy, 10. Bo’s appearance in a flesh-colored swimsuit and cornrow hairstyle became an iconic scene in movie history. She followed it up with appearances in A Change of Seasons and Tarzan, the Ape Man. Bo posed for Playboy in 1980 and 1981. Around that time, her film career had dwindled. She took a five-year break from acting, returning to work in 1989’s Ghosts Can’t Do It. She took another break from acting to take care of her ailing husband. Her second return came in 1995 when she appeared in the Chris Farley movie, Tommy Boy. She continued to act, appearing in television series like The Drew Carey Show, Family Law, and the telenovela Fashion House. In 2015, Bo appeared in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
