Bethany Mota, 18, (born in Los Banos, California) is an American video blogger and social media personality who rose to fame through her own YouTube channel. Bethany is also a fashion designer with her own line and perfume at Aéropostale, in addition to partnerships with Forever 21 and JCPenney. She made an appearance, as a guest judge on Season 13 of Project Runway. She is competing on Season 19 of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, which premiered on Sept. 15, 2014, and is paired with professional dancer Derek Hough.

Bethany is best known for being one of the most famous YouTube celebrities, after launching her own channel in 2009 to escape bullying, which, as of September 2014, has over seven million subscribers. Bethany creates “haul videos,” which showcase her favorite products that she purchases, hair and makeup tutorials, recipes and lifestyle tips.

Bethany grew up in California, and was mostly homeschooled. Her fans are called “Mota-vators.”
