Ben Affleck (born in Berkeley, California on August 15, 1972) is an American actor, film director, writer, and producer. As a child actor, Ben appeared in the PBS children’s series The Voyage of the Mimi. As a teenager, Ben starred in the ABC after school special, Wanted: A Perfect Man. After graduating high school, Ben moved to New York to look for work, before relocating to Los Angeles. With a handful of small roles in the early 1990’s, Ben’s most noted performance came in 1993’s Dazed and Confused. He would also appear in the Kevin Smith’s films Mallrats and Chasing Amy. His big breakout came in 1997 with Good Will Hunting, which Ben co-wrote with his co-star, Matt Damon. The film was a critical and commercial success, winning Ben and Matt the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. As a leading man, Ben appeared in the blockbuster Armageddon, as well as such movies as Shakespeare in Love, Reindeer Games and Pearl Harbor. Ben endured a few flops with 2003’s Daredevil and Gigli, which featured his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. Ben found success as a director, directing films Gone Baby Gone, The Town and the critically acclaimed Argo in 2012. In 2014, Ben earned praise for his role in the film, Gone Girl. Ben will play Batman in 2016’s Batman V Superman.

Personal Life:
Ben dated Gwyneth Paltrow from 1997 to 2000. He was involved in a highly publicized relationship with Jennifer Lopez from 2002 and 2004, to whom he was engaged. Ben started dating Jennifer Garner in 2004. They became married in 2005. They have three children together: daughters Violet and Seraphina and son, Samuel. Ben is highly involved in humanitarian efforts, co-founding the Eastern Congo Initiative to help Africa find solutions to its problems. He’s also a supporter of the A-T Children’s Project, The Jimmy Fund and has worked with the USO. After much rumors and speculation, Jennifer and Ben announced their divorce on June 30, 2015 — the day after their 10th anniversary.
