BC Jean (born Brittany Jean Carlson in San Diego, California on April 22, 1987) is an American singer-songwriter and actress, perhaps best known for writing the song “If I Were a Boy,” which was later sung by Beyoncé and achieved worldwide commercial success. BC released her debut single, “Just a Guy”, on Sep. 14, 2010. She also starred in the web-series Talent produced by Alloy TV on YouTube where she played Harper, a musician who travels to Los Angeles in search of fame.
