Ashley Sawyer (born Ashley Sawyer in 1993) was an American reality TV star. She appeared on the MTV show Catfishing in 2013 where she met up with Michael Fortunato after the pair had struck up a seven year online relationship. After finally meeting in person for the show’s cameras, they realized they’d both greatly exaggerated their looks and the meeting went terribly. But they continued forward with their relationship until Mike passed away from a pulmonary embolism just a few months later.

Personal Life:
In spring 2016, Ashley completed rehab after struggling with addiction. Ashley passed away on May 2, 2016 from unknown causes at the age of 23. MTV broke the news in a statement of condolences to her friends and family.
