Anthony Anderson (born Anthony Alvin Anderson in Los Angeles, California on August 15, 1970) is an American actor, writer and comedian. In 2015, Anthony was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Andre Johnson on Black-ish, a sitcom on ABC which he also helps write. Anthony has starred in TV shows like The Bernie Mac Show on FOX, NBC’s Hang Time and Law & Order, and The WB’s All About the Andersons. He is also a regular judge on the Food Network’s Iron Chef America. His film roles include Me, Myself & Irene, Kangaroo Jack and Transformers, among many others.

Personal Life:
Anthony married his college sweetheart, Alvina Anderson, in 1995. The couple, who filed for divorce in 2015, have two children together, Kyra Anderson and Nathan Anderson. Anthony was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and is active in raising awareness for the disease.
