Andy Samberg (born David A.J. Samberg on August 18, 1978) is an American actor who starred on Saturday Night Live from 2005-2012. Before fame, Andy became obsessed with SNL at a young age. His devotion to comedy led teachers to believe he was unfocused when it came to schoolwork. Andy graduated from high school in 1996 and attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for two years, before transferring to New York University for its film school. Before joining SNL, Andy was a YouTube and Internet star. Andy became a featured player on SNL because of the work he’d done on his own sketch comedy website, TheLonelyIsland.com. He starred on the show from 2005-2012. Andy then left SNL to pursue a film career. He’s since starred in Hot Rod, Space Chimps, That’s My Boy, and Celeste and Jesse Forever. He is currently engaged to Joanna Newsom.
