Amy Poehler (born Amy Meredith Poehler, in Newton, MA, on Sept. 16, 1971) is an American actress, comedian, voice artist, director, producer and writer. She studied improv at The Second City and ImprovOlympic, before moving to NYC and becoming part of the improvisational comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. Amy became a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2008, where she worked alongside Tina Fey. The two friends also starred in the 2008 comedy, Baby Mama together. Amy then went on to star in the hit sitcom Parks and Recreation. Amy received five consecutive nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the show. She stars in 2015’s Sisters with Tina.

Personal Life:
Amy married actor Will Arnett on Aug. 29, 2003. On Oct 25, 2008, Amy gave birth to their first child, and then in 2010 their scond son was born. In Sept. 2012, Amy and Will announced they were ending their marriage. In 2013, Amy began dating actor and comedian Nick Kroll. They split in 2015. Amy started Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls at the Party, an online community for young girls and the young at heart, which encourages women to pursue volunteerism, activism, and culture.
