Ali Krieger (born Alexandra Blaire Krieger on July 28, 1984 in Alexandria, Virginia) is an American soccer player. Growing up in Dumfries, Virginia, Ali played soccer as a youth. She graduated from Forest Park High School, where she was a three-year team captain and led the school’s soccer team to their first undefeated regular season. After she graduated, she enrolled in Penn State University, playing for the school’s soccer team. She helped the Nittany Lions win four consecutive Big Ten championships. After college, Ali moved to Frankfurt, Germany, to play for FFC Frankfurt. While injured in the 2008-09 season, she got back into shape while playing with the Washington Freedom of the Women’s Professional Soccer organization. She continued to play for FFC Frankfurt until 2012. During her tenure, she helped the team win the German Women’s cup. In 2013, Ali joined the Washington Spirit for the first season of the National Women’s Soccer League. That year, she also signed a short-term contract with Tyreso FF. Ali made her debut with the United States Women’s National Team in 2008, playing against Canada in the Four Nations Cup in China. She helped the US Women’s team win the 2015 World Cup.
