Angela Merkel, 61, as TIME magazine’s Person of the Year for 2015, is the first woman to be named since TIME changed the honor from “Man of the Year” to “Person of the Year” in 1999 — so awesome! The magazine selected Merkel “for asking more of her country than most politicians would dare, for standing firm against tyranny as well as expedience and for providing steadfast moral leadership in a world where it is in short supply”. ‘The Mindy Project’ takes us on a crazy road trip this week — Danny and the self-invited Morgan drive cross-country to see Danny’s dad after his heart attack. The odd couple makes a detour along the way because Danny found out he had a teenaged son — or does he?
Last week, as part of some very emotional television, we saw Danny (Chris Messina) preparing to jet off to California to visit his dad after a heart attack. Since nothing ever goes as planned, in the Oct. 20 episode Danny ends up stuck in the car on a road trip with the extremely carsick nurse Morgan (Ike Barinholtz). Thelma and Louise-esque shenanigans ensue, including Danny dropping the bomb that he has a secret family!

Three cheers for the prospect of a ‘Cheers’ revival (sorry, it had to be said)! ‘The Mindy Project’ is blessed with an amazing supporting cast, including Rhea Perlman and Dan Hedaya from the sitcom ‘Cheers’. I caught up with TMP writer Tracey Wigfield to get the scoop on a possible reunion!
Cheers fans rejoiced when Rhea Perlman was cast on The Mindy Project last year as Danny (Chris Messina)’s mom. It was a genius move for so many reasons, one being that we’d already seen Dan Hedaya guest star as Danny’s dad. The Aunt From Hell, Jennifer Connell, 54, tried and failed to sue her nephew Sean Tarala, now 12. This is definitely one of the most insane stories we’ve heard about family members suing each other: Jennifer pressed charges for an accident that happened at Sean’s eighth birthday party! She filed a lawsuit against him for $127,000, but was unsuccessful — after a two-day trial, the jury ruled against her on Oct. 13. Good!

The Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll stars recreated a classic scene from 1998’s The Parent Trap, and while Elaine stepped into her original role with perfection, it was Liz who really stood out as a Lindsay Lohan doppelgänger.
