(UPDATE: 5/13/2021 AT 3:00 P.M. ET): On May 13, it was announced that Ronnie would not be charged in this domestic violence case. “We are very happy that after further investigation both the LA Country District Attorney’s office and the LA City Attorney’s office determined that criminal charges were not warranted against Ronnie related to the incident that occurred in April,” Ronnie’s attorneys, Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine said in a statement, obtained by Hollywoodife. “As we previously stated, there was a rush to judgement by the media. We will review the alleged violation of probation claim and deal with it accordingly. As for Ronnie, he is currently seeking medical treatment for psychological issues that he has ignored for a long time. His only present goal is to address these issues professionally and make himself a better person and the best father he can be to his loving daughter.”
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 35, has run into trouble with the law again. He was arrested in Los Angeles on a domestic violence charge at 11:50 a.m. PT on April 22, which the Los Angeles Police Department’s public information officer confirmed with HollywoodLife. His bail was set at $100,000. We have also reached out to Ronnie’s rep, who had no comment at this time.
News of this alleged arrest arrives as Ronnie is still on probation, stemming from his arrest over an alleged domestic violence incident that involved his ex-girlfriend, Jen Harley, in Oct. 2019. On the night of that arrest, Jen and Ronnie — who had just gotten back together at the time — allegedly got into an argument that escalated. Ronnie allegedly “punched and slapped” Jen, who then ran out of their Airbnb rental home home in LA, TMZ claimed at the time. Ronnie then allegedly chased Jen while holding a knife and their daughter Ariana, who was 18 months old during the incident. Ronnie then allegedly locked himself inside the house with their daughter, and police later entered by force and tasered the reality television star to arrest him, according to TMZ‘s original report of the arrest. However, Ronnie was “adamant he NEVER picked up or threatened Jen with a knife” that night and was confronting his girlfriend because he “was afraid she was trying to take their daughter away from their Airbnb rental home,” sources later told TMZ. Ronnie went on to plead not guilty to seven misdemeanors — domestic violence, child endangerment, brandishing a weapon, criminal threats, false imprisonment and two counts of resisting arrest — in Nov. 2019. He eventually struck a plea deal by May of 2020: the MTV star “pled no contest to 1 count of domestic battery and 1 count of resisting arrest,” which earned him 36 months of probation instead of jail time, according to TMZ.More than a year after the arrest, we learned that “Ron talks to Jen as minimally as possible,” which a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife in Nov. 2020. The insider added, “They do not get along at all anymore. Things between them are probably as good as they’ll ever be and they have to be in one another’s lives but it’s safe to say these two will never be friends.”

Ronnie has went on to find new love. He became Instagram official with eyelash technician Saffire Matos in Oct. 2020; about three months after their social media debut, a source close to Ronnie EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife, “Since Ronnie’s been dating Saffire he can’t stop smiling and they feel like they got the old ‘Ron’ back. The fun-loving, laughing, positive guy that they’ve always known.”
