Paul’s cleaning up! Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s character is leaving his hippy commune look behind in mixed-ish season 2. In HollywoodLife’s EXCLUSIVE photo, Paul has chopped off some of his locks in favor of a slicked-back look.

This is a different ’80s look for Paul! He’s still got a little bit of scruff, which we don’t mind. Paul still has a colorful wardrobe. That’s not going away, especially in the ’80s.

In the EXCLUSIVE promo, the Johnsons will be facing a whole new set of adventures and memorable moments. Santamonica (Mykal-Michelle Harris) is still as sassy as ever. When Alicia (Tika Sumpter) asks her if she made a birthday wish for Ethiopia, Santamonica quips that she actually wished for a “new family.” Santamonica is always brutally honest, that’s for sure.

Johan (Ethan William Childress) admits he’s been passing for Mexican, but he can’t pass his Spanish class. “That’s another conversation,” he says to his parents. Meanwhile, Rainbow (Arica Himmel) will be channeling the 1983 hit Risky Business this season. Santamonica also declares she’s the “blackest” person in the family. When she shows off her walk, Denise (Christina Anthony) doesn’t disagree! There’s never a dull moment when it comes to the Johnsons!

Season 2 will continue to tell the story of a young Rainbow Johnson and her family as they recount the experience of being a mixed-race family in the ’80s and the dilemmas they face as they navigate a world where the kids are perceived as neither black nor white. While the parents deal with the social dynamics of fitting into the suburbs, Rainbow and her siblings find themselves figuring out how to fit in when everyone else can’t decide where they belong. Season 2 of mixed-ish will premiere Jan. 26 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC following an all-new episode of black-ish.
