Brian Austin Green is taking a rational approach to his breakup with Megan Fox. While the 90210 actor has heard about her recent comments gushing over her new boyfriend, Machine Gun Kelly, Brian is doing his best to move forward so that he can move on. Contrary to popular belief, the actor, whose ex publicly put him on blast recently, didn’t take Megan comments as a direct dig at him.
“Brian doesn’t take every comment that Megan makes about Machine Gun Kelly as an insult at him. He understands they had a very public breakup and that all the news is still fresh,” a source close to the father of three told HollywoodLife, exclusively. “Brian isn’t letting everything she discusses about her relationship with MGK get to him. If he paid attention to every comment or overanalyzed every word, he would never be able to move on. Instead, he’s focused on moving on with his own life and co-parenting his boys,” the insider explained, adding that Brian wants Megan to live her life on her own terms. “All that matters is maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship.”
A second source close to Brian said that the actor is also focused on healing after closing the decade-long chapter he shared with Megan. “Brian wants the pain of the break up to lead to some healing this holiday season. He can’t continue to feel down about it and notice everything she is doing in her love life,” the second insider revealed. Moving forward, “Brian will continue to be a great father with Megan who’s a great mother. It’s time for healing and he wants to focus on that more than the stress of any drama.”
Megan’s latest comments about her new boyfriend came on November 17, when she spoke about the couple’s connection of “mythic proportions” in a NYLON cover story centered around MGK (née Colson Baker).
“Loving him is like being in love with a tsunami or a forest fire,” Megan explained while laughing (as noted by the magazine). The actress continued, “The intensity of merging with him is just overwhelming, and the threat it poses is so powerful but so beautiful that you have no choice to surrender with reverence and with gratitude.”
The Jennifer’s Body star shared the latter just a few weeks after she publicly slammed Brian on social media due to the actor uploading a photo of their youngest son, Journey River, 4. Fans of the relatively private exes will know that they’ve strived to keep their children (sons Journey, Bodhi Ransom, 6, and Noah Shannon, 8) out of the spotlight.
In her public comment — in which she also accused Brian of using his social media to portray her as an “absent mother” — Megan noted that Brian has their three kids “half of the time.” A third source told HollywoodLife that that custody agreement is still in place.
“Brian and Megan are still sharing their time with the kids equally and they’re both very dedicated parents. No matter happens between them as adults they never let it affect the kids,” the source asserted. “Brian has been doing his best to keep things as amicable as he can. He really doesn’t want there to be tension between him and Megan. The whole social media stuff makes things that much harder because he’s admittedly a newbie at it,” the source continued, adding, “The last thing he wants is for it to impact his real-life relationships, so he doesn’t plan to share any more photos of their kids.
