Nicki Minaj, 34, dropped some new diss bars in her collaboration with Gucci Mane, 37. The duo dropped a new track called “Make Love” on Feb. 24 just after Nicki appeared on Jason Derulo’s, 27, “Swalla.” “You see silly rabbit, to be the queen of rap/you got to sell records, you got to get plaques/ ‘s’ plural, like the ‘S’ on my chest/ now sit your dumb ass down, you got a ‘F’ on ya test,” she raps at one point in between Gucci’s own lyrics. Could Nicki be making a reference to her on-going feud with female rapper Lil Kim?
Despite being two of the most famous female rappers in the game, Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim do not get along. They’ve been throwing disses at each other for years. It all started back in 2014 when Kim called out Nicki on her track “Identity Thief,” which included lyrics like, “Anything you tryna do, I done did, I gave birth to your style.” Yikes! Then to top it off, Kim threw another dig at Nicki in during Beyoncé’s song “Flawless.” Kim sang, “Am I trippin’ or did this h- just say my name? Queen of rap, f— outta here. Queen’s back, f— outta here.”
Nicki seemed to think Kim’s time as the queen of rap had passed and even threw some shade Kim’s way at the BET Awards in June 2015. While accepting the Coca-Cola Viewer’s Choice Award, Nicki hinted that she thinks Kim gave up on her career. “This is for everyone in this room. I want to tell you to please make it your business to follow your dreams because one day you will look around and your dream will be gone and you will be mad at somebody. But be mad at your g–d—self,” she said. The ladies have been feuding ever since.
