This is beyond heartbreaking. Owiso Odera, a Kenyan actor who was best known for his role as Papa Tunde in the CW series The Americans, collapsed and died while he was performing, according to numerous reports. Owiso, who was living in Santa Monica, California, had been performing on stage in Kentucky when he suddenly collapsed. Although efforts were made to revive him, they were unsuccessful, and Oswiso was pronounced dead just a few minutes later. So horrible.

Owiso had spent early October in Washington, D.C., acting in a new show entitled “Measure Plus Dido,” according to Standard Media. “We are devastated by his demise,” Owiso’s brother, Peter, told the site. “It is like a bad dream. I haven’t come to terms with the news of his death. This is unbearable. The last time we spoke he insisted that I join him down in Santa Monica to pursue my education.” A cause of death has not yet been revealed, and Peter said that he and his brother were very close, and that Owiso was sure to keep in touch with his family back in Kenya. We can’t even imagine what Peter and the rest of his family are going through right now.
He had such a promising acting future, and his unexpected death is just so shocking and sad. Owiso earned a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at the University of California San Diego, and in addition to his role on The Originals, he also performed in TV productions such as The Past and Unforgettable. The late actor is survived by wife Nicole and siblings Roney, Sheilla, Sharon, Milly and Peter.
