Stephen, 52, asked Tiger, 40, how on Earth he and ex-wife are now “best friends” as he told Time magazine back in 2015, especially with his cheating scandal that ended their marriage. The host quipped, “That’s more impressive than being an 11 time PGA player of the year,” to great laughs.
“It becomes two simple things, we have (children) Sam and we have Charlie and we love them so much we’ll do whatever it takes to make that work. That’s how it happened,” Tiger emotionally replied. Awww, it’s clear he his son and daughter are his absolute world and have been the glue that have kept he and Elin on a good path following their bitter split.
“She’s been one of my best friends and I’ve talked to her about so many different things. Same thing with me, we go back and forth. We communicate so much better now it’s incredible. I wish we would have done that earlier on, but it’s incredible to have a best friend like that.” Wow, sounds like there’s still so much love between the pair, even if it’s no longer a romantic relationship.
Had a blast on @colbertlateshow! Thanks for the laughs @StephenAtHome. -TW #LSSC #TWF20 pic.twitter.com/SFxlfPWcAt

Tiger was sporting a new beard for the first time, and he joked that because he’s half Asian he can’t grow it in all the way, especially on the sides but it gets nice and bushy on his chin. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to give us a timetable of when he’ll return to tournament play as he’s still recovering from back surgeries that forced him to leave PGA action in Aug. 2015. He says he’ll only return when he knows he’s confident to play alongside golfing’s best.
HollywoodLifers, are you amazed Tiger and Elin are so close again after all they went through in their bitter split?
