So this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was all about Kathy and Rosie trying to fix their broken relationship with cousin Teresa Giudice. They surprised Teresa at her book signing last week, and begged her to go to lunch with them, but as we previously told you, she wasn’t too keen about the idea of sitting down with them.
In fact, it took a heck of a lot of persuasion to get Teresa to meet up with them this week. First, Jacqueline and Siggy tried convincing Teresa to have lunch with Kathy and Rosie. Teresa, of course, wasn’t happy that Siggy and Jacqueline tried to meddle in her family’s business. Teresa explained that the reason why she isn’t interested in having a relationship with Kathy and Rosie is because they, along with their mother and Richie, talked badly about her right before she went off to prison. Furthermore, Teresa still hasn’t gotten over Kathy calling her dad a “coward” on the Season 5 reunion special.
And when Jacqueline tried defending Kathy, Teresa shut her down hard. Having just reestablished her own friendship with Teresa, Jacqueline then knew to keep her mouth closed on the subject matter. Siggy, on the other hand, kept talking about it, but she at least waited until they parted ways with Teresa to do so.

Later that night, Jacqueline and Siggy stopped by Kathy and Richie’s house. Melissa and Joe also showed up, and when the topic of Teresa came up, things started getting heated. Melissa didn’t want any part of the conversation about Teresa not wanting to link up with Kathy and Rosie. She said she now values her friendship with Teresa, and talking about her behind her back would only risk ruining that. Jacqueline said that wasn’t fair to Kathy and Richie, who used to have to listen to Melissa and Joe complain about Teresa. Then, when Richie said Teresa must hate him and Kathy because they actually have a good marriage, Joe flipped out. Joe said that’s exactly why Teresa doesn’t want to be around them. Richie apologized, but it didn’t seem sincere.
When Joe Gorga met up with Teresa at the gym, he finally convinced her to meet up with Kathy and Rosie — but under one condition. She said he had to go with her. And that he did. All four of the Gorga family members met up for lunch at Rails (the only place that seems to allow them to film in NJ). While Kathy and Rosie were hoping for a reconciliation, Teresa basically just showed up to tell them she didn’t want her cousins in her life anymore. Teresa said there was too much turmoil, and she wouldn’t be able to forget everything that’s been done in the past. She actually referred to Kathy and Rosie as “cancer” and said she wants to “cut” them out of her life. Ouch.
The whole entire scene between Teresa, Kathy, Rosie and Joe was heartbreaking to watch. And when Teresa walked out to the car with Joe, she burst into tears. It seemed like even though she cut her ties with Kathy and Rosie, she probably felt sad about it.
We do have to also mention that Jacqueline’s daughter, Ashlee, got engaged, but the moment wasn’t as powerful as Teresa’s heartbreaking lunch with her cousins.
