Alexandra Breckenridge, 34, and her guitarist husband Casey Hooper, welcomed their first child into the world on Sept. 3, according to People magazine, and the actress is already completely head-over-heels for her little boy! Their son, Jack Breckenridge Hooper, arrived at 2 p.m. and weighed 9 lbs., 1 oz. He measured 21 inches. WHAT a cutie!
“When I first held my baby, the world melted away and I knew he was the most important thing I’d ever do,” Alexandra told the publication. Sounds like the blonde beauty has definitely found her calling! And according to her, the birthing process went about as smoothly as it could have!

The first-time mom ended up choosing a natural water birth at a local hospital, where she was supported by a team of midwives and a doula. “I had the benefit of being surrounded by experienced, loving women, while being overseen by medical staff, just in case,” Alexandra dished. “Luckily, everything went beautifully and no interventions were needed. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I’m definitely an advocate for water birth if you choose to go natural.”

And while the star certainly did plenty of research on how she wanted to give birth, she had also been majorly preparing for her son’s arrival in a variety of other ways too, which she shared with all her followers on Instagram. From picking out the perfect stroller to choosing eco-friendly diapers, this new mom definitely thought of everything in the weeks leading up to Jack’s birth.
But one thing she and Casey didn’t necessary plan for? The fact that they may change their minds about their son’s name! While Alexandra and her husband had picked out their baby’s name well in advance, she admitted she ended up having a change of heart.
“We had another name for him picked out before he was conceived, but while I was jet-lagged in London, maybe three months pregnant, I had a weird feeling his name was Jack,” she recalled. “I have no idea where it came from, but I just knew. The same way I knew that he was a boy. Call it mother’s intuition?!” Sounds like mother’s intuition to us. Congrats again, you two!
