1. Evan comes from money.
Miranda Kerr’s, 33, future husband, Evan Spiegel, 26, is best known as the CEO and co-founder of Snapchat, but his isn’t a “rags to riches” story. Evan is the son of two Ivy League-educated attorneys and he enjoyed a “cushy childhood,” according to Entrepreneur, which included expensive cars and large monthly allowances.
Oh, but he doesn’t act like he came from nothing. He owns up to his privilege. “I am a young, white, educated male who ‘got really, really lucky,'” he once said at a Stanford Women’s business conference.
2. He co-created Snapchat while still in college.
Though Evan never graduated from Stanford, he dropped out of the college with something more valuable. He and fellow Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers Reginald Brown IV and Bobby Murphy, 27, created the app in 2011 after a conversation about sexting. Sadly, the partnership would sour, after Reggie was ousted from the company. He would later sue Evan and Bobby, and their lawsuit would be settled for an undisclosed amount in Sept. 2014.
3. He’s worth a lot of money. Like, a LOT of money.
Not everyone would turn down $3 billion dollars, but that’s what Evan did when Mark Zuckerberg, 32, and Facebook tried to buy Snapchat in 2013. Evan seemed to have made the right choice. As of Jun. 2016, the company has raised $1.34 billion and is valued at $16 billion, according to the International Business Times.
4. Evan had a reputation as a partier.
The Snapchat co-founder likes to live like he’s worth billions. He was once known as a guy for for throwing lavish parties, going on private vacations and buying luxurious cars. However, Miranda said that Evan has put that wild lifestyle behind him. Still, it’s a safe bet that his wedding to Miranda will be a huge and extravagant affair!
5. He reportedly dated some major celebs in the past.
Miranda and Evan met at a fashion industry dinner a year ago, but before their romance blossomed, he was romantically linked to stars like Taylor Swift, 26, and The Bachelor’s Lucinda Aragon, 28. Much like a photo on Snapchat, those relationships expired. Here’s hoping Miranda and Evan’s marriage is one that lasts!
What do you think about Evan, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he and Miranda’s wedding will be glamorous?
