Christy became irate after her husband, Jason Sheats, 45, refused to apologize for an argument the couple had had earlier on June 24, according to the NY Daily News. On the fatal night of the shooting, Christy reportedly hid the gun under the couch and brought it out during a family meeting, which she demanded. “He told Christy, ‘Just shoot yourself. Make it easy on all of us, just shoot yourself,’” a family friend, Madison Davey, told reporters of Jason trying to protect his family. But instead of turning the firearm on herself or her husband, she pointed it towards her daughters. “‘No, that’s not what this is about, this is about punishing you,'” Christy reportedly told her husband before shooting Madison and Taylor. The gun Christy used to murder her family was reportedly given to her by her great-grandfather with the instructions to “protect her family,” according to Davey.
This is SO extremely sad. But Christy has had a long history of violence. Police officials had received 14 calls to investigate the family home in the Westheimer Lakes North subdivision since 2012, according to officials in the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators of the incident have declined to disclose what the 911 calls were about however.

While many would describe Jason as “the best dad ever,” many cited Christy to being very unstable.”I always knew something would happen. I never thought she would do this. Christy was toxic for the family. She was mentally unstable,” the family friend continued. She went on to reveal that Christy had even spent time in a mental institution. The Texan mom was fatally shot by police after she murdered her two daughters. The grieving family plans to have a funeral for Madison and Taylor in Alabama later in July 2016.
