“[Demi and Wilmer] both were not in a rush to get married, they both were not in a rush to have kids and they thought that would change even when their close friends were doing all of that,” the source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “But the fact that they didn’t have the urge to get married and have kids really got them talking on if it was worth continuing the relationship. And that is when they realized being best friends was the best option for them.” To hear more about Demi and Wilmer, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
That sounds incredibly mature and reasonable. If they didn’t see any reason in continuing their relationship, and they were both okay with it, then they might as well part ways before things one day turned ugly. Demi and Wilmer announced their split via a statement on her Instagram on June 3, writing:
“After almost six loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who offered us kindness and support over the years. With only love, Demi and Wilmer.”

No drama here! However, has HollywoodLife.com learned, Demi has apparently come to terms with the fact that (she thinks) she’ll never find a love as true as Wilmer ever again. What? She’s only 23! “The love that Demi has for Wilmer is second to none, and she knows she will never experience a love like the one they had ever again,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY. “They are always going to be in each others lives, but the physical love won’t be there and she is OK with that!”
