Jamie Lynn Spears, 25, made us feel all the feels in the latest preview for her new TLC reality special, Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out. In fact, the Zoey 101 alum got SO real about her teen pregnancy that she ended up crumbling on camera, revealing, “This is my story like you’ve never heard before…I’m not just a teen mom.” Talk about inspiring!
“The child star who got pregnant,” Jamie Lynn says during the preview. “A lot of horrible, nasty things were said. “I look back now and I’m like, ‘Oh my Gosh,'” she adds, wiping away tears. Wow, it looks like Jamie Lynn is getting BEYOND real in her newest show, telling fans her true story and holding nothing back. We can’t wait!
“I’m not just a child star,” Jamie Lynn also says on the TLC special. “And I’m not just someone’s sister. And I’m not just a teen mom.” Even her and Britney Spears‘, 34, parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, appear on the program and discuss her emotional journey. “Jamie Lynn was bad, it was a bad three years,” her father revealed.
The special, Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, will document the country singer’s life with her now seven-year-old daughter Maddie and husband James Watson. Clearly the young mom has been through a lot in the past seven years, but, after retrieving from the public eye once her pregnancy news broke in 2007, we’re so happy that she’s finally ready to come forward and reveal how EVERYTHING went down.
But this isn’t the first time Jamie Lynna has talked openly about her teen pregnancy. In fact, back in 2012, she told Glamour, “Like many young girls…I was really scared to go to the doctor. And I was on a Nickelodeon show, and it [felt] especially embarrassing to ask someone to put me on birth control.”
She also said that Maddie’s father, ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge, was her “first love,” adding, “Since the day I saw him, I just wanted to marry him and be with him forever and ever.” And in an E! News interview the following year, Jamie Lynn dished about the moment she found out she was pregnant. “This made no sense and I didn’t understand it and I was young.” We can’t wait to watch Jamie and her family on June 26!
