“I step back and look at myself and I still want to kick that guy’s ass sometimes,” Zac told Men’s Fitness. “Like, f-ck that guy. He’s done some kind of cool things with some cool people — he did that one thing [Neighbors] that was funny — but, I mean, he’s still just that fu–ing kid from [High School Musical].”
Come on, Zac! The actor clearly knows High School Musical made him a global star, but he really just wants to move on from that stage of his life. He doesn’t want High School Musical to define his career and his personality, which we totally get.
Even his Neighbors 2 co-star Seth Rogen thought Zac was not going to be nicest guy because of his past. “For sure, I assumed he’d be a guy I wouldn’t like very much,” Seth told the magazine. “But he was very self-effacing and self-deprecating, and I remember really liking him. He won me over.”

Zac has definitely left HSM in the past. The cast reunited back in Jan. 2016 to celebrate the movie’s 10-year anniversary, but Zac was noticeably absent. While promoting We Are Your Friends in 2014, he couldn’t remember the words to “Breaking Free,” the hit song Troy and Gabriella sang in the first movie!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Zac should be dissing HSM so much? Let us know!
