Game of Thrones season 6 is undoubtedly the show’s best season. The May 15 episode was simply incredible from beginning to end. From Jon Snow’s emotional reunion with a family member to Ramsay’s latest murder to Daenerys’ huge moment, the show is on a roll!
After killing Olly and Aliser, Jon was ready to get the hell out of Castle Black. His watch was over. Edd asked where Jon was going. “South,” Jon said. He was fully rocking the man bun now, and it was glorious. Edd was pissed Jon was leaving when he knew what was coming.
Well, Jon didn’t know what was coming next. He got the shock of his life when the doors of Castle Black opened up, and there was Sansa, Brienne and Podrick. No, it was not a dream. When Jon and Sansa saw each other (the first time since season 1), time stood still. They couldn’t even form words. Then they hugged.
After their epic reunion, they talked about the past. Sansa admitted she had been an ass to Jon in the past. “I wish I could change everything,” she said. He forgave her for everything.
She asked him where he was going. “Where will we go?” he said. For Sansa, there was only one place they could go. Back to Winterfell. Sansa was ready to take Winterfell back from the Boltons with the help of the Wildlings. But Jon wasn’t so sure.
“I’m tired of fighting!” he screamed. Every time he fought, he lost. But Sansa knew if they never took back the North, they would never be safe. And she was going to fight with or without her brother. All hail Sansa!
As we all should have expected, Littlefinger wasn’t going to let Sansa get away forever. The manipulative mastermind visited Robin, who was now all grown up but still oblivious. Littlefinger tricked Robin into helping Sansa get away from Ramsay with an army. Oh boy. This is going to get nasty.
Meanwhile, Davos asked Melisandre about Stannis. He wanted to know what happened to poor Shireen. Brienne showed up and gave Melisandre the side-eye about Renly. She knew Renly’s death was Melisandre’s doing. Then Brienne confessed to killing Stannis.
Meanwhile in Meereen, Tyrion was trying to make peace with Dany’s enemies. Missandei and Greyworm were NOT having it. The rest of the cities in Slaver’s Bay were all about keeping slavery, while Dany wanted it abolished.
Tyrion proposed a deal. Slavery would not return to Meereen, but the cities of Slaver’s Bay had 7 years to end the practice. They also had to cut off their secret support of the Sons of the Harpy. Tyrion offered the men some very beautiful women to help persuade them. Missandei and Greyworm were not fans of Tyrion’s idea. Greyworm urged Tyrion not to trust the slavers.
Jorah and Daario were so close to finding Daenerys. They had arrived in Vaes Dothrak. While they were discarding their weapons, Daario noticed the scales on Jorah’s arm. They snuck into the city, but they were discovered pretty quickly.
Daario wasted no time killing a boy, and Jorah battled a Dothraki man. The guy was just about to kill Jorah, when Daario stabbed the guy in the back. When you’re in a bind, always call Daario.
Daenerys was taking a walk outside the Dosh Khaleen when Daario and Jorah found her. But she didn’t want to leave right then and there. She had other plans…
Over in King’s Landing, Margaery was taken to the High Sparrow. He revealed his past sins to her and allowed her to see Loras. He was a mess, and that’s putting it lightly. Margaery tried to give her brother strength, but he was lost and desperate. Lord knows what he’s suffered. He just wanted it all to stop, but Margaery didn’t want to give in to the High Sparrow. (Okay, we need to start forming a support group for Loras. I’m very worried about his well being.)
Tommen revealed to Cersei that he met with the High Sparrow in secret. Even though the High Sparrow made Tommen promise not to reveal what they had talked about, Cersei used her manipulative ways to find out what went down.
Cersei and Jaime were ready to take their city back. They went to see Kevan and Olenna to unveil their plan. Olenna basically rolled her eyes until Cersei said that Margaery was about to take her walk of atonement. Olenna did not want that to happen. Jaime wanted the Tyrell army on their side, and Olenna happily obliged. They were now more than ready to fight the High Sparrow.
Theon returned home and went to see his sister. He couldn’t even look Yara in the eye. She was furious with him for betraying her. Through tears, he confessed that Ramsay had broken him. Yara thought Theon was being shady showing up right when the throne was up for grabs. “I don’t want to be king,” he said, before telling Yara that she should rule. What a terrific performance by Alfie Allen.
Speaking of Ramsay, Osha was brought to him in his chambers. After a little chat, Osha straddled Ramsey. But she had her eye on his knife the entire time. She was so close, but then Ramsay stuck a knife through her neck. RIP Osha. Then he just continued peeling his freaking apple.
While still at Castle Black, Jon got a letter from Ramsay. It said that Rickon was Ramsay’s prisoner. He wanted Sansa back and threatened war. He vowed to do horrible things to the Starks. “Come and see,” Ramsay taunted.
Sansa wasn’t scared of Ramsay at all. She wanted to fight. Jon asked Tormund, who clearly had a crush on Brienne, how many Wildlings could serve in an army. After a rousing speech by Sansa, Jon was ready to save Rickon and take back Winterfell.
At the end of the episode, Dany was brought before Khal Moro and other khals. They told her that she had no voice unless she was a Dosh Khaleen. Then Daenerys made quite the statement. She wanted to rule them and the rest of Vaes Dothrak. Khal Moro called her a “crazy cunt.” Dany wasn’t going to take no for an answer.
“You’re not going to serve me,” she said. “You’re going to die.” She tipped the stands of fire over and watched the place burn. She killed Khal Moro and walked out of the fire naked once again — just like in season two! The people of Vaes Dothrak fell to their knees to worship their khaleesi. Jorah and Daario did the same. Bow down to Dany!
