Matt, who currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, used D’Angelo’s mistake to remind people that the team has always had trust issues amongst its players. He posted a a meme of Derek Fisher in front of a microphone with the words “Derek Fisher Be Like….WHAAAAT Guycode Did Russell Violate??”? along with the caption “Folks got the game so a** backwards these days you don’t know who to trust!” ZING! Matt is referring to the fact that Derek started having a romantic game of one on one with his estranged wife Gloria back in fall of 2015. While they guys no longer played together, Matt still considered it such a huge violation of their now former friendship that he drove 95 miles from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles to beat up D-Fish after finding out Gloria was at his house. Matt admitted he and Derek were once very good friends, but after he hooked up with Gloria, “Clearly that friendship is over.”

Obviously Matt hasn’t moved past Derek’s betrayal with his epic Instagram diss, and D’Angelo’s situation reminded him that young players on the team today are still breaking each other’s trust. We can only hope that Nick and D’Angelo can work things out and move past their situation and not hold on to the kind of anger that Matt and Derek still have.
