The episode started when Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) threw everyone for a loop and switched the resident and attending pairings due to fear of “stagnation.” And because of the switch-up, Jo (Camilla Luddington) was paired up with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), who wasn’t exactly excited about having Alex’s (Justin Chambers) girlfriend as her resident. Nor was she excited about working with Meredith. In fact, Jo complained quite a bit about the situation to Stephanie while hanging out in the bathroom. And her frustrations eventually came out during a spat with Meredith, when she told the widow to get her own damn boyfriend and stop blocking the relationship she has with Alex. Ouch! Well, Jo’s speech must have affected Meredith because not only did she apologize to Jo for treating her like crap, but she finally came face-to-face with Thorpe, who has been trying to call her and ask her out on a date. (He’s super hot!)
Meanwhile, a woman who is pregnant with quadruplets was admitted to Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) services. And Arizona also tried to get April to undergo some tests on her fetus, but she refused. She would rather believe her “baby is fine.” Obviously, she’s scared of something bad happening, as it did the first time around.

And speaking of “bad,” Courtney — the woman who is pregnant with quadruplets — went into labor 17 weeks ahead of her due date. April tried her best to “stop the boulder from rolling down the hill,” but when she felt Baby C’s feet sticking out of Courtney’s vagina, Arizona realized she couldn’t stop the process. But then she came up with a crazy idea to deliver one baby and leave the other three inside by sewing her cervix shut. It was never done before, but Arizona succeeded!
Finally, just when April mustered up enough courage to tell Jackson about her pregnancy, Arizona beat her to the punch. Whoops.
