Jennifer Garner, 43, just keeps giving us reasons to love her more and more. First it was her ridiculously candid interview about the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Affleck, 43, then her “Bless your heart” back-handed insult over his awful giant mid-life crisis back tattoo. Now she’s officially won our hearts by reading the twisted children’s bedtime book and the results are totally priceless!
Jennifer’s hilarious video was taken during her super glam cover shoot for Vanity Fair magazine recently. As a fun twist, they had Jen spoof her good girl and super mom image by reading Adam Mansbach‘s children’s book for adults “Go The F**k To Sleep'” and boy does she give it her best. After raising three kids, we’re sure she’s read plenty of bedtime stories over the years so she’s got the storytelling and sweetness down pat. It’s the language that separates this book from all the other ones she put Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4 to bed in the past.
“The cats have laid down with their kittens, the lambs have laid down with their sheep. You’re cozy and warm in your bed my dear, now go the f**k to sleep,” she reads with such sweetness in her voice and sincerity in her eyes that it’s so shocking to hear the “F” bomb come out of her tender storytelling. “The eagles who soar through the sky are at rest, and the creatures who crawl, run and sweep. I know you’re not thirsty, that’s bulls**t, stop lying, Lie the f**k down darling, and sleep. The wind whispers soft through the grass hun, the field mice they make not a peep. Its been 38 minutes already. Jesus Christ, what the f**k go to sleep!” she reads with intensity and purpose.
“The cubs and lions are snoring, wrapped in a big snuggly heap. How come you can do all this other great sh*t, but you can’t lie the f**k down and sleep. The end. Goodnight!” she declares with her all-American smile from ear to ear as she kicks back on her chaise lounge. Bravo Jen, bravo!
