Saving oneself for marriage may not be for everyone, but for Colton and Annie, it was the “right” decision. “It was not easy!” the 24-year-old Christian singer told People magazine on Jan. 25. “But I believe sex was designed for marriage and I knew it would be more meaningful to wait. That was something I grew up thinking and feeling, and I believe the Bible backs it up as well.”
“It wasn’t because someone was telling me this is what you should do,” Annie added. “Deep down in my heart it felt like it was the right thing. And we’re really glad we did. We know God’s hand is on our marriage.”
As for their first night together, the couple, who recently celebrated their honeymoon at the Polynesian resort in Moorea (an island in French Polynesia), admit that the fact that they were Mr. and Mrs. – and finally sharing a bed together – took a while to sink in. “It was kind of strange: we checked into the room and realized, ‘We actually get to go to sleep side by side! This is so cool!'” said Colton. “Anywhere we’ve traveled before, we’ve always gotten two hotel rooms. We wanted to remain pure in that area. There were a lot of moments of – ‘Oh, you’re not going back to your room. That means we’re married!’ It made it really special for us.”

The gorgeous couple officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, Tenn. on Jan. 8. The wedding itself was described as an absolute “fairytale,”and included a horse-drawn carriage that reportedly carried the bride and groom from their reception at Nashville’s Bell Tower. “She was glowing and it was unbelievable how beautiful she was,” Colton, 24, recalled. “I absolutely lost it. Audible tears. And I’m not a good-looking crier either!” So sweet!
