“Gavin is still in touch with Mindy,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He reached out to her to make sure she was okay after news of their affair went public. He’s concerned for her and knows she’s young and not used to being in the spotlight.”
The 50-year-old and his kids’ nanny allegedly had a secret relationship for three years before Gwen reportedly discovered what was going on in February after finding explicit text messages. At that time, she fired Mindy, but decided to stick things out with her husband of 13 years when he chalked it up to “flirtation,” according to Us Weekly. But after a second nanny reportedly blew the whistle on the alleged affair, Gavin was forced to confess, and Gwen filed for divorce in August.
Making this whole thing more complicated and devastating, though, is the fact that Gavin and Gwen have three adorable sons together, which is the Bush rocker’s main concern right now. “It’s really tough for them,” People reports. “Every day there’s a different story. He is concerned about the kids and wants to keep them safe and is trying to keep all this craziness out of their lives and keep things as normal as possible for them.”

Meanwhile, Gwen has been thrust into the spotlight in the middle of this because of her role on The Voice, which aired three live episodes this week, just as this news all came out. Luckily, she’s had her new boyfriend, Blake Shelton, 39, by her side throughout the show — a witness even spotted him adorably comforting her while she broke down in tears during a commercial break.
