Lieutenant Debra Morgan’s about to become a mom — and wife (sort of)! Jennifer Carpenter, who played Dexter’s feisty foster sister on Showtime’s Dexter, is pregnant with her first child. She and Seth Avett, who recently became her fiance, will welcome their baby into the world later this year.
Jennifer, 35, first turned heads when she stepped out in jeans and T-shirt on Feb. 7. According to E! News, who first reported the pregnancy and engagement, the star appeared to have a growing bump and a popped out belly button.
She was also seen wearing a suspicious diamond ring on that finger.
Thankfully, there’s no need to keep guessing because Jennifer’s rep confirmed the news to the site.
HollywoodLife.com has also reached out to Jennifer’s rep for comment.
Jennifer and the Avett Brothers singer, 34, have been together since 2013. They started dating after she divorced her Dexter co-star and onscreen brother, Michael C. Hall. Michael and Jennifer tied the knot in 2008 and finalized their divorce in December 2011, E! News notes.
Seth, on the other hand, was previously married to Susan Avett, but they separated in June 2013.
This is the first child for both the folk singer and actress. Hopefully, Jennifer learned how to tone down her famous f-bombs after Dexter went off the air in 2013.
This is such exciting news! We can’t wait to find out if she’s having a boy or a girl.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Jennifer Carpenter name her kid Dexter? If not, what name should she give her baby? Tell us!
