Did Justin Bieber’s love triangle with Selena Gomez and Yovanna Ventura just get even more complicated? Shockingly, yes. When a fan account asked for Yovanna’s opinion on Selena, she not only complimented her rival, but defended her!
Is Yovanna Ventura, 18, waving the white flag in surrender? Seems like her rivalry with Selena Gomez, 22, for Justin Bieber‘s attentions is over. Not only did the Miami-based fit model compliment Selena, but she also defended her honor to a super rude fan. Has Yovanna given up on Justin, 20, or does she feel guilty?
Yovanna Ventura Defends Selena Gomez & Compliments Her On Instagram — Weird?
On Oct. 4, fan Instagram account TeamOfSelly posted a gorgeous photo of Selena with the caption: “Yovanna, describe Selena in 5 words tag her.” The account’s followers then called Yovanna’s attention by tagging her username, YoVentura.
In a screencap obtained by OceanUp, Yovanna responded that she just had one word for Selena: “bella.” “Bella,” of course, means “beautiful” in Italian.
Then, when Yovanna noticed the super rude username “YovannaBetterThanSlutena” in the comment thread, Yovanna commented once again on the photo: “But that username has got to change, please.”

Wow! We’re so surprised that Yovanna would respond to a question about Selena at all, and then to not only compliment her but to defend her honor? So crazy!
Yovanna is one of many girls that Justin hooked up with in between the various off periods in his relationship with Selena. Justin noticed Yovanna on Instagram back in Feb. 2014, after which they started a relationship of sorts. He even bought Yovanna’s prom dress (the exact same dress Selena once wore) and flirted with her publicly! More recently, Justin flew Yovanna to New York for Fashion Week!
So, why would Yovanna defend Selena like this? Has she gracefully passed the baton now that Justin and Selena may be back together again? Or does she feel compelled to say nice things about Selena because she feels guilty about her hookups with Justin? Or, is she just a nice girl?
