Ray Rice, 27, was arrested on Feb. 15, following a domestic dispute with his wife, Janay Palmer, 26. TMZ has now released an extremely disturbing video that it reports, shows the running back knocking out and dragging his then fiancée out of an elevator at a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
So disturbing. Please be warned that the content below is extremely graphic and upsetting. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Ray and his wife got into an altercation at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City back on Feb. 15. In the newly released video, Ray can be seen hitting Janay, she hits back, and then he punches her again which causes her to then hit her head on what appears to be a railing before she falls to the floor unconscious.
The pro footballer then waits for the doors to open and begins to drag her out of the elevator. The punch drew a two-game suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
According to ESPN, “Rice was suspended by Goodell for two games on July 25. He was also fined more than $500,000 (two game checks from this season, and one from 2013).”
The site reports that Ray said, “I made the biggest mistake of my life, I want to own it,” at a news conference in July.
The Star reports the Ray made a statement at the time of his suspension. “It is disappointing that I will not be with my teammates for the first two games of the season, but that’s my fault. As I said earlier, I failed in many ways. But, Janay and I have learned from this. We have become better as a couple and as parents. I am better because of everything we have experienced since that night. The counselling has helped tremendously.”
Ray and Janay were married in March, just one month after the assault, and have a daughter together, Rayven Rice.
