Aviva Drescher, 41, wasn’t in the crowd to watch her father George Teichen, 76, marry Dana Lavette Cody, 25, this past weekend, and we may know why. Before the wedding, Aviva gave HollywoodLife.com the EXCLUSIVE scoop on exactly how she feels about her father’s “unconventional” relationship. Read all the details below!
George married Dana, who is 51 years younger than him, on a beach in Malibu, Calif. on Aug. 3, according to the UK’s Daily Mail. The new report also claims that Aviva was shockingly NOT in attendance at the nuptials!
Before the wedding, the Real Housewives of New York City star dished all about her father’s relationship with a much younger woman, during an EXCLUSIVE interview featured on our Hollywood Life Says podcast.
“I’m not shocked because since the death of my mother eight years ago, my father has been running around and really having a lot of fun with lots of young women. He’s almost 80 and my perspective is that I just am so happy that he’s healthy and happy at this age, without my mother, who was the love of his life,” Aviva told us of her father’s engagement. She admitted, however, that she does not share her father’s “values” or way of thinking.
“This is not my first choice,” she revealed to us. “I would much prefer my father to be with somebody at least my age. I don’t share the same values that my father has. God forbid I lost my spouse, I would like to be with somebody that would be from my same generation. I wouldn’t want to be a teacher. But these are his values, and this is what makes him feel good. So I’m not her to judge him, I’m there to support him in his quest for happiness at this age. So that’s why I support him.”

That said, Aviva also defended her father’s much younger love during the podcast. She admitted to us that she believes that her father and Dana are truly in love.
“I do. I’ve seen them together, they’ve stayed in my apartment. I’ve spent time with them and I think that everybody beats to their own drum, and every couple has their own dance and I do think that they’re really in love with each other. Whatever needs that she has are being fulfilled by my father, and whatever he has at this point — which are obviously he wants to feel young — are being met by Cody. I really think they are in love. For those who think that she’s after him for his money, it’s not true. It’s really real. And I’m surprised,” she said.
Wow — what do YOU think about Aviva skipping her dad’s wedding, HollywoodLifers? Do you think these two are feuding, or do you think she just couldn’t make the nuptials? Let us know!
