Nina Dobrev: Did She Know Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed Are Dating?

Dating a friend’s ex is always rocky territory, especially if you were ALL friends to begin with!

“Ian and Nikki are still in the trial stage of their relationship and they haven’t shared with many that they are testing it out. They don’t ever want to broadcast to the world what they are doing in their personal life, especially if it isn’t going to go anywhere,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. 

Nikki and Ian didn’t seem to be hiding their feelings for each other when they went on a date to an L.A. Farmers’ Market on July 20. We can’t help but wonder if the two celebs are taking their ex’s feelings into consideration, but our source says they are! 

“Nikki and Ian were totally into each other at the Farmer’s Market and weren’t shy at all about showing their affection for each other,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Ian was playing with her hair and they acted like a couple.”

“They are definitely keeping others [Nina & 29-year-old Paul’s] feelings close as they work on their decisions to start an exclusive relationship together. They don’t want to upset anyone. It is beyond baby steps right now between the two and Nina hasn’t been told anything. But Nina isn’t stupid either, she reads the gossip like the rest of us so she will know soon enough,” the insider explains.

We’re sure Nina will be VERY disappointed that her Vampire Diaries love is hooking up with ANOTHER vampire — after all, Nikki was Rosalie Hale in the Twilight films!

Paul McDonald: ‘Totally Heartbroken’ Over Nikki Split

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Nikki’s American Idol alum ex-husband Paul McDonald is crushed over their recent divorce.

“Paul is still totally heartbroken over the break up. He loves her and always will. They still work together and are in contact, he tries not to ask too much about anything but he’s hurt. He had every intention of being with her forever,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY.
