Chris Colfer Fired From ‘Glee’ For ‘Personal Issues’

Here is Chris’ tweet from July 3:

However, Chris’ manager revealed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that his account had been hacked! “The actor’s publicist tells THR that Colfer is on a mid-Atlantic flight without WiFi access and not immediately available to update his Twitter account.” Honestly, that is so annoying.

20th Century Fox released a similar statement to HollywoodLife.com, telling us:

“We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.”

Chris has been around since the show’s inception and was a founding member of New Directions, which would have made this news especially surprising. He is a huge fan favorite, and Kurt’s relationship with Blaine (Darren Criss) is the stuff of online shipping legend.

And, let’s be honest, if anyone was going to get fired from Glee, we’d have thought it’d be Naya Rivera for her reported propensity toward on-set drama. Just saying.

Chris Colfer Is A Bestselling Author For His ‘The Land Of Stories’ Series

We were shocked to see Chris tweet that he had been let go from Glee, especially considering that Ryan Murphy‘s wildly successful series is entering its sixth — and final — season, but we were sure that Chris would end up landing on his feet. After all, he’s got a fairly successful side hustle — he’s a bestselling author for his children’s fiction series The Land Of Stories; the first novel in the series, The Wishing Spell, was on the New York Times‘ Bestseller List for five weeks, and reached #1 for two of those five weeks.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you see the tweet when it happened? Did you panic? Or did you not believe it could be true? Speculate away in the comments below!
