The May 26 episode of 24: Live Another Day featured the perfect balance of action and emotion. Jack’s (Kiefer Sutherland) fears about Margot’s (Michelle Fairley) attack were finally taken seriously, one plan to save the day went horribly wrong and Jack and Audrey (Kim Raver) came face-to-face for the first time in years!
The Captain and Kate (Yvonne Strahovski) continued to clash over who had jurisdiction over Jack after his hostage crisis. Kate assured the Captain that Jack wasn’t out to hurt anyone, but was out to stop an attack. The flight key was missing and the Captain was looking for it. Jack didn’t have it on him, because he handed it over to Kate! Kate was on Jack’s side and wanted to discover that Tanner’s (John Boyega) drone was hijacked. Kate fled the scene and connected with Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) about how to download the rest of the data from the flight key.
Simone (Emily Berrington) didn’t feel so hot after her mother had her finger chopped off. (Who would?) Margot fed Simone garbage talk about how it was her fault that she hadn’t discovered the truth about Navid (Sacha Dhawan) sooner. If Margot had, the finger-chopping wouldn’t have been necessary.
Navid was on thin ice with Margot after his initial refusal to take his part in the drone plan. He pleaded with Margot not to hurt Simone again. He agreed to do whatever she wanted from now on. The drone attack was back in motion.
Meanwhile, Adrian (Michael Wincott) helped Chloe figure out the override code that proved Tanner’s flight was hijacked. She handed the information over to Kate, who called Jordan (Giles Matthey) to present the information to Navarro. Jordan, the tech guy, knew instantly about the override code. Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) was putting his job on the line, but Jordan was beyond sure about the code. Navarro called Mark (Tate Donovan) and demanded to talk to President Heller (William Devane).
Kate confirmed Jack’s information about the drone attack. She told Heller directly that Margot was planning a full-scale attack. Jack was telling the truth and they had to act now or thousands of people would die. Heller told his officials to recall all drones from around the world.
Margot realized that the drones were being turned around and someone was on to them. Suddenly, all the drones were redirected by Margot and Heller flipped out. Six of the drones went off the radar and out of site. Heller’s officials said most of the drones were headed toward London and could cause tens of thousands of casualties. To add more bad news, the drones were undetectable at this point. Heller wanted to talk to Jack immediately and knew he had to alert the British about the possible attack.
Mark apologized to Audrey for having his personal feelings cloud his judgment about the drones. Audrey told him he couldn’t blame himself. Heller needed him and he couldn’t back out. However, Audrey didn’t say she needed him, much to Mark’s disappointment.
Over at CIA headquarters, Navarro told Kate she had to be taken off the case. The Captain had filed a complaint against her. Navarro told her to feel good about proving herself. Kate wasn’t ready to back down anytime soon. Nor would she.
A video popped up on the CIA server of Margot. She was still angry about the drone attack that killed 23 people, including her husband. Margot wanted Heller to surrender himself to her or thousands of people would die instead. Heller had no idea about the drone attack and was furious with Mark for keeping it from him. Mark said he was protecting him and the drone program. Audrey defended Mark and said he made the right call, but Heller didn’t care. Heller went off to talk to Jack. Audrey got a glimpse of Jack as he walked by and it was as if time stopped.
Heller and Jack sat face-to-face. Heller confirmed Jack’s fears about the attack and wanted to know how to stop them. Jack knew a guy that had a connection to Margot, but wanted to pick him up himself. He wanted Heller to put him back into the field until Margot was captured. However, the Russians still wanted Jack’s head and putting Jack back in the field openly would create more problems for Heller. Jack agreed to surrender himself once he stopped the attacks and captured Margot. Heller refused. Jack wouldn’t give up the name unless he could do things his way.
The first drone was expected to hit London soon. Navid wanted to see Simone before things got crazy. He told Simone that the video he released of Margot was traceable. He planted evidence that would protect Simone if Margot’s plan failed. (Navid is so naïve.)
Jordan found the IP address and Margot’s potential location. Navarro went to Heller about the major breakthrough in the case.
After Heller’s chit chat, Audrey came into Jack’s room. These two hadn’t seen each other in years and they just stared into each other’s souls for a few seconds. Audrey tried to cover up her feelings by letting Jack know about the lead, but it didn’t work for long. The tension in the room was palpable. “I don’t even know where to begin,” Audrey said breathlessly. “Me either,” Jack replied. He asked Audrey about her marriage and if she was happy, but she didn’t answer him. She tried blaming herself for not defending him, but Jack wouldn’t let her. He apologized for everything he had done and they almost kissed, but Jack told her to leave. (Audrey and Jack are so not over.)
Heller told the Prime Minister about the loss of the six drones and Margot’s plan. The Prime Minster was furious, but Heller assured him that the U.S. was taking care of it.
Kate had a gut feeling that the lead they had was a little too easy to get. She wanted Chloe to get a look at the tapes and make sure they didn’t miss anything. Adrian was ready to get the heck out of dodge, but Chloe begged him to say. He couldn’t understand why she was still involved and refused to help.
Margot confronted Navid about the video and knew what he did. Her bodyguard started beating him and took him to another room to await his sentence. Ian said he could take over control of the drones with no problem.
The CIA was moving in on Margot’s house and they were ready to strike. They broke inside the house and didn’t find any sign of her. Chloe called Kate and said the IP address was wrong and they were headed into a trap. Margot said to go ahead with the drop and it was on the house that Navarro and his men were investigating! Two missiles were dropped and the house exploded, leaving us to wonder about Navarro and his team’s fate. Ian had proven himself in regard to the drones, which meant Navid had to go. Navid pleaded for his life, but to no avail. Margot showed him no mercy and shot him right in the head! We wonder what she has planned for Heller!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s 24: Live Another Day? What did you think of Jack and Audrey’s reunion? Can you believe Margot killed Navid? Are Navarro and his team dead? Let us know your thoughts!
