Paul Walker’s Daughter Betrayed By Family Members
Even though Paul has been gone for five months now, his daughters future remains in limbo.
The teen’s mother, Rebecca Soteros, and her grandmother, Cheryl Walker, have been battling over custody of Meadow since Paul died in a car crash in November 2013.
Now, a new report suggests that the teen is frustrated with the custody battle and even feels betrayed because no one has consulted her to see who she would rather live with.
Before Paul’s death, Meadow was living with him and his mother, Cheryl, after asking her dad if she could move in with him in 2011. Meadow reportedly asked to move out of her mother’s mom in Hawaii because Rebecca suffers from a serious alcohol addiction.
Meadow is reportedly feeling very betrayed by her grandmother and her mother, according to E! Online. The teen is upset that no one will ask her what SHE wants — even though it is probably the most important factor for the case.
Thankfully, a judge has assigned an independent attorney to Meadow, which will help the court make a decision in who will raise her now that her father is gone.
Judge Refuses To Dismiss Custody Case
In a custody hearing on April 30, Superior Court Commissioner David Cowan refused to dismiss the case after reading an investigators report that focused on the issues with Meadow’s troubled mom, Rebecca. That report remains confidential.
However, the commissioner stated that Rebecca was not in a position to take custody of Meadow because of her current living situation.
Details about that living situation remain unknown, as they are only listed in the confidential report.
