Kurt Cobain was 27-years-old when he shot himself in the head inside the Seattle, Wa. home he shared with his wife, Courtney Love.
On April 4, the day before the twentieth anniversary of Kurt’s suicide, the Seattle Police Department released never-before-seen photos of the crime scene.
Though none of the pictures show Kurt’s upper body after he shot himself in the head, two photos show parts of his body laying on the floor.
In one photo, am open box of bullets rests next to Kurt’s foot, and another shows his tattooed arm wearing the medical identification bracelet he was given at the rehab facility he left just days before committing suicide. After he killed himself, Kurt’s body was not found for three days.
The Seattle PD claim these photos of Kurt’s body were never developed, but had recently been developed when the case was re-opened for investigation. However, they once again concluded the death to be a suicide and closed the file once more.
On April 10, Nirvana will finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. KISS will also be inducted.
Speculation of a performance by the remaining members of Nirvana has sparked, especially after bassist Krist Novoselic tweeted that he was “practicing” again.
“Been playing those @HalLeonardBooks bass tabs to get up to speed. Muscle memory is good too. #PracticeMakesPerfect @nirvana,” the bass player tweeted suspiciously.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air on May 31 only on HBO.
