A recent survey reveals that men prefer not chocolate, candy or teddy bears -- but sex on Valentine's Day! Oh my! On Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, couples everywhere will exchange gifts representing their love for each other. However, there is one thing that men crave more than chocolate and candlelit dinners. Valentine’s Day Sex — ‘Shocking’ Survey Reveals What Men Want On Feb. 14

The two-thirds of men wanting sex for Valentine’s Day is more than double the 30 percent of women craving the same thing! But perhaps this idea of wanting more sex is actually a plan to spend less money. The survey also shows that couples expect their partners to spend way more than what they’re actually willing to shell out on gifts, according to TIME.

The Chase Blueprint Valentine’s Survey reveals that guys think their significant others will spend $230 on them while on average, women expect theirs to spend $198.

In reality, guys plan on spending $98 on their partners, while women plan on spending $71 on average. The same survey shows that 43 percent of men and half as many women don’t even want a Valentine’s Day gift, and 20 percent of people don’t plan on spending anything on their significant others. Ouch!

Most People Prefer A Valentine’s Day Surprise

Seventy percent of the 1,200 people who took the Chase survey said they’d rather be surprised than pick out their own gift. The average person wants chocolate, tech toys and dinner out over flowers, jewelry and a home-cooked meal. The number of people that would rather stay in for the evening has gone up 10 percent from last year, according to the RetailMeNot survey.

To all men and women out there, think hard about your plans for Valentine’s Day. Don’t just skip it simply based off of these statistics or you could end up in a load of trouble!
