This Means War
Let’s face it: Emily and Daniel’s marriage has tanked. Even before the shooting and the fake pregnancy revelation, Daniel wanted out. He’s apparently in love with Sarah (Annabelle Stephenson) and was fully prepared to use her as bait in his battle against Emily.
One of the first things to brighten Emily’s morning — you know, after ripping her stitches open — was the sight of Daniel and Sarah in bed together. He was a total tool to Emily in front of Sarah, but the look on Emily’s face said he was toast. She knew the only way to get to Daniel was through Sarah, so Emily didn’t even have to lift a finger in this episode. (Poor Sarah.)
Sarah spent most of the episode making herself at home at Grayson Manor. Emily basically called her trash and told her she didn’t belong here. Emily wasn’t giving up on Daniel and Sarah was going to be left out in the cold.
The “psychological warfare” continued between the newlyweds, as Emily went on a major shopping spree and Daniel fired the staff because of gossiping. This was merely child’s play.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered… And Sued!
Margaux (Karine Vanasse) thought most of her worries were over once the first issue of Voulez was printed, but during a nice stroll with Jack (Nick Wechsler) and Carl, she discovered some shocking words in her article!
In the final print of Margaux’s cover story on Emily and Daniel’s nightmare wedding, it said that Conrad (Henry Czerny) basically premeditated Emily’s shooting by giving Lydia (Amber Valletta) a handgun! An infuriated Daniel believed Conrad planted the false content to get back at him, so Conrad is now suing the magazine for libel.
Conrad gave them an ultimatum and agreed to buy the magazine. Margaux took the offer, and Daniel was ousted. (Nice job, Conrad!)
Matters Of The Heart
Patrick was on a mission to find his biological father, Jimmy Brennan, much to Victoria’s displeasure. Her eldest son was still suffering from emotional issues from being orphaned, which was understandable.
While at a bar, Victoria ran into Jimmy and lost it. Once Patrick got his mom out of there, she spilled the beans about her dark past. She revealed that Jimmy was like a brother to her after she fled home, then one day it all changed when he beat and raped her. Victoria ran from him after Patrick was born. She saw the opportunity for a new life when she got a scholarship to Paris, but had to leave Patrick behind at the orphanage.
Patrick was moved by her story and they’ve reached an all-new level of closeness.
Secrets & Lies & Peaches?
Since Aiden (Barry Sloane) and Emily are sort of broken up, Niko (Stephanie Jacobsen) was ready to get her man back. She decided to move into Nolan’s (Gabriel Mann) — but basically just Aiden’s bedroom. Niko wanted Aiden’s help in finding her father’s killer, which isn’t going to end well.
Niko began studying Takeda’s autopsy photos and realized the murder weapon was one of her father’s most prized possession. Since it’s not in his loft, she believed the murderer stole it. She made a huge mess in Nolan’s kitchen and said she was practicing “separating skin from flesh” with peaches. Niko is very scary. Aiden needs to get out while he still has his pretty face!
Aiden was already partially on top of it when he planted evidence of a guy he said killed her father. He was in Moscow and Aiden had already bought Niko a plane ticket. Niko was alarmed that Aiden wasn’t joining her, but she realized that he loved Emily more than avenging Takeda’s death. Oh, the irony.
However, Aiden just couldn’t get rid of her. On her way out, she uncovered her father’s sword under his bed!
Everyone’s Losing Their Minds
Daniel and Sarah’s bliss was short-lived, thanks to Emily. They had planned a romantic getaway to Italy and were all set to go until Sarah’s mother showed up. Her mother made her choose between family and Daniel. Sarah stupidly chose Daniel.
However, after some thinking, Sarah realized she couldn’t leave her family. This was only Emily’s first swing and she’d already destroyed a relationship. Sarah broke up with Daniel, leaving Daniel devastated and angry.
Drunk Daniel returned and wasn’t playing around. He confronted Emily and pulled her hair and threw her on the bed. “Sterilizing you was my gift to the universe,” spat Daniel. Emily got delirious and the next thing she knew she woke up in Conrad’s bed!
Conrad said he couldn’t wait until their next “rendezvous.” Did they sleep together? Or could this all be a huge Grayson plot against Emily?
Earlier, Emily had another blackout. After Nolan told her that Niko and Aiden were hot and heavy, Emily was visibly upset. She went swimming and then suddenly she was at Nolan’s. Aiden gave her ultimatum: If she leaves, then they are truly over. She admitted she knew about Niko and left Aiden speechless. Honestly, I thought it was a dream. But could Emily really be losing it?
The last moments of the episode showed a new character who is sure to stir up trouble in the Hamptons. The original Mrs. Grayson, Conrad’s first wife, has shown up and she’s ready to play.
