Bill Beckwith Dies In Motorcycle Crash
Bill passed on Monday, Dec. 2, when his motorcycle was hit by a car in San Francisco. Bill was a popular figure on Curb Appeal, which he co-hosted with John Gidding, Chip Wade and Kimberly Lacy. The handsome handyman helped homeowners make improvements to the outdated exteriors of their homes to raise their appeal to potential buyers. It was a great job for Bill, who “started working with his hands at an early age” on a 60-acre vegetable farm in midcoast Maine, according to his official HGTV bio. He then studied English and martial arts at the University of Montana, and moved to Northern California to become a licensed contractor. He ran his own company, BB Design Build, in addition to working on Curb Appeal.
HGTV expressed their condolences in an email: “The HGTV family is deeply saddened by Bill’s tragic death and we mourn his loss along with his many family and friends who will miss his creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life.”
The network also reached out on the show’s official Facebook page. “We are heartbroken,” HGTV wrote. “Bill was truly a beloved and respected member of our Curb Appeal family and this loss is devastating to us. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Bill’s family.”
Bill Beckwith Said ‘Our Lives Can Change At Any Instant’ Weeks Before Death
Bill was killed on Dec. 2 when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood. He was taken to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries. Bill was a motorcycle and automobile enthusiast, but a chilling Oct. 21 post from his Facebook page proves that Bill knew how dangerous life can be on the road:
“Was the first one out of my truck this a.m. at a head-on collision, made sure everyone was breathing and then directed traffic. A solid reminder that our lives can change at any instant, and to be grateful for what I have right now.”
HollywoodLife.com sends thoughts and prayers to Bill’s friends, family, and colleagues during this difficult time.
