His family is not going there. This is not a time for blame and anger for them — that would be the worst way to honor Paul’s memory. They are focused on love. Paul would never want them to place blame on Roger, he was a dear friend who lost his life too. Roger’s family is suffering the same way they are, his kids lost their dad. It’s a horrific time for everyone and pointing fingers isn’t going to bring Paul back. Right now his family and friends are focused on remembering all the amazing times they had with Paul. They feel grateful to have had him in their lives. He was such a light and a force for good on earth. It’s still so hard to believe he’s gone.
The whole thing is such a tragedy, but we’re relieved that Paul’s family seems to be handling their grief in the healthiest way possible. Both Roger and Paul’s families are experiencing an unimaginable loss, but at least they have each other to lean on during this difficult time.
Paul Walker’s Death: Drag Racing Ruled Out
Police are still investigating the accident, but L.A. County Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Cohen told CNN that a tip suggesting that another car was at the scene racing the Porsche has been proved false. No evidence of a second car has surfaced, so the investigation is now focused on the speed of the car that slammed into a light pole and burst into flames.
The Sheriff’s Office says that speed was definitely a factor in the crash, though it has not yet been determined how fast the Porsche was going. There was a 45 MPH speed limit sign on the light pole, but eyewitnesses have reported seeing the Porsche traveling at a high speed, with some estimating that it was traveling more than 100 MPH before Roger lost control.
