Our hearts break for Lea Michele. She lost the love of her life, Cory Monteith, when he died from a mixture of heroin and alcohol on July 13. Lea, 26, reportedly learned of his death during a harrowing phone call that she’ll likely never forget.
Lea allegedly received the call around 10 p.m. on July 13. The person on the other end had been frantic to reach the Glee star before she heard of 31-year-old Cory’s passing on the news.
“Lea completely lost her mind. She went crazy, screaming and crying until 3 a.m.,” a source tells Us Weekly.
Devastated, Lea has reportedly since gone into seclusion in Los Angeles. “Lea has been inconsolable and feels like she’s been hit by a truck. She didn’t know he’d started using again. She is camped out at a friend’s house because she can’t be alone now,” the source says.
Lea did, however, leave her friend’s house to say goodbye to Cory one last time.
Cory’s mother, Ann McGregor, held a viewing at the hospital with Lea, 26, and Cory’s older brother, Shaun Monteith on July 16, according to TMZ. She then decided to cremate his body in Vancouver after the viewing.
This is all truly heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lea and everyone affected by Cory’s death during this sad time.
