Kate Middleton is due to give birth to the royal baby in July, but even in her third trimester, the Duchess of Cambridge is barely even showing any signs that’s she’s pregnant. While she’s been criticized and called “mommyrexic,” there’s a reason why she looks so slender — read on to find out what it is.
The mom-to-be, who is thrilled welcome her first child with hubby Prince William, still looked lean and slender during an April 4 appearance in Glasgow, and covered her tiny baby bump in a chic plaid coat.
Even though she has been sporting coats in public, she is still showing no signs of pregnancy — but at 5 feet, 10 inches, her thin frame is genetic, and her mom Carole Middleton carried all three of her babies about the same way, a source tells Us Weekly.
“Carole didn’t show for a long time,” the source says. “She wore nonmaternity clothes right up until the final weeks. So it was no surprise to the family when Kate stayed little.”
But even if Kate’s body isn’t really showing her pregnancy, her loving relationship with her husband is proving that the royal baby is bringing the couple closer than ever.
“They’re much more touchy-feely than they were,” MarkStewart, royal photographer, told People magazine.
“They’ve always been close, but it is much more pronounced since she has become pregnant. There appears to be new, deeper bond between them,” Judy Wade, royal author, agreed.
