The April 1 celebration marks the 135th annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House and it only gets bigger and better every year! To help President Barack Obama, 51, Michelle Obama, 49, and their two daughters — Malia, 14, and Sasha, 12 — celebrate, they have invited more than 30,000 people from all over the country to participate in the egg roll!
The acts that are set to perform are Austin Mahone, Jordin Sparks, Coco Jones, The Wanted and characters from Sesame Street. They are all sure to bring their A-game for the first family and the large crowd! This year, Jessica Sanchez gets the pleasure of singing the “National Anthem.”
This event is sure to be fun for everyone involved, especially since Michelle is all about being fun and fit! That may be why the theme of this year’s Easter Egg Roll is “Be Healthy, Be Active, Be You!” which ties right in with the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign.
Dancing, obstacle courses, yoga and playing sports with professional athletes are all on the healthy itinerary for the celebration on the White House South Lawn, but most importantly the annual egg roll is at the top of the event list!
Once people are tired out from all the adventurous and fun activities, they can head on over to the Storytime Stage where celebrities like NASCAR’s Danica Patrick, The Wanted, actress Quvenzhané Wallis, Elmo, Abby, Gordon and Rosita from Sesame Street and the full cast of Super Sprowtz will be.
Also, there will be a special guest at this year’s celebration — Robby Novak, better known as Kid President! Tons of celebrities have fallen in love with this kid and his videos, and the Obamas seemed to have noticed him as well!
