Is Justin Bieber still upset over his self-proclaimed “worst birthday” on March 1? The heartthrob infuriated fans awaiting his arrival at London’s O2 Arena on March 4 — a school night — when he arrived nearly two hours late!
The doors opened for Justin’s show at 6:30pm, with an advertised start time of 8:30, but the Biebs, 19, didn’t arrive until just after 10:20pm. A source inside the arena told BANG Showbiz, “The fans were infuriated and they were booing on a number of occasions before he finally turned up on stage on a strange mechanism which made it look like he was floating through the air.”
The news outlet adds, “Everyone was quick to forgive him though,” but it looks like that wasn’t exactly the case. The Mirror writes that many of Justin’s young fans had to leave before the show, as they did have to be up for school the next morning.
Several of these fans, and their parents, took to Twitter to share their disappointment with the singer. Good dad @Deano10W tweeted, “Daughter and Nieces at O2 to see Justin Bieber – Still not on stage at 10.20 on a school night – That’s just taking the piss!”
Another concerned parent, Simon Mason, tweeted, “Eldest LDNCalling having to get a taxi home Waterloo coz of Bieber running 2hrs late.”
The official Twitter account for the venue wrote to apologize on behalf of the young pop star, saying, “Justin Bieber is now on stage and apologises for the lateness of his show.” Following that, hoping to calm worries that fans wouldn’t be able to get home via public transportation, they tweeted, “Sorry to all the Justin Bieber fans for the lateness of his show tonight. The Tube will still be running when the show finishes.”
Are you surprised that Justin kept his fans waiting for nearly two hours, HollywoodLifers?
