The Nov. 26 episode of Gossip Girl kicked off with Bart rummaging through Chuck’s (Ed Westwick) apartment, looking for the evidence that could expose his illegal oil dealings — but none other than Ivy Dickens (Kaylee DeFer) appeared to let the Bass men know she has the secret documents, and there was only one way they were going to get them: trade in Lily (Kelly Rutherford), leaving her with no one!
Meanwhile, Nate (Chace Crawford) and Blair (Leighton Meester) struggled to get their businesses moving, while Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) hung out in Serena’s bed trying to DTR.
Read on for four more of this week’s ‘OMG!’ moments:
1. Is Ivy hooking up with Serena’s dad?
Mind. Blown. Who we thought was going to be Lola waiting for Ivy in the hotel room, well, definitely wasn’t Lola — it was Serena’s dad, William van der Woodsen (Billy Baldwin)! We all know Lily and William don’t get along, but hell is going to freeze over when she finds out that Ivy is hooking up with her ex-ex-ex-husband.
2. Rufus took the documents!
Go, Rufus (Matthew Settle)! Seriously, he pulled a total Emily Thorne move on Ivy by replacing the microfilm with random, unimportant papers while he brought the real deal to Lily. All those years with Lily and Jenny scheming really paid off. Rufus seemed to learn a thing or two. (And you thought you were in control, Ivy. Oh, have the tables turned. Game’s on!) Unfortunately, once Lily had possession of the papers, she threw them into the fire, once Chuck ran to tell her that Bart and Ivy were stripping down — completely disposing of all the evidence that Chuck ever needed.
3. Is ‘Chair’ broken?
Chair! Nooooo! Say it isn’t so. Chuck snapped back into his old self and pushed Blair away because he failed his part of their promise to take down his father. In the world’s most depressing news, Chuck told Blair that they’ll never be (word vomit)! Chuck drank away his sorrows, while Blair couldn’t even enjoy the success of her clothing line. Depressing.
4. Dan isn’t really falling back in love with S!?
Right before the episode ended, Dan received a phone call from Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg). He told her he couldn’t talk, because he was in the middle of working on the Serena chapter of his book! WHAT?! Serena and Dan spent the whole episode making amends so they could go public, but it turns out the point of making amends wasn’t so that they could actually be together. Dan, we never expected you to sink as low as your sister! Total game changer.
