The episode kicked off with Blair (Leighton Meester) working on her latest fashion collection of cotillion dresses. But while Queen B was focused on paving the way for fashion in high society, her frenemy, Serena (Blake Lively), was trying to win stepmom points by helping Sage prepare for her own introduction into Manhattan’s elite.
Lucky for S, in addition to somewhat winning Sage’s approval, she also found her invitation to be Steven Spence’s future wife: an engagement ring.
But as Gossip Girl would say, not so fast S — happiness doesn’t come as easy as a cotillion does on the Upper East Side.
And here are our 4 ‘OMG’ moments…
#1 Sage and Blair Team Up To Ruin Serena’s Engagement
Serena didn’t really think Steven (Barry Watson) was going to propose at Sage’s cotillion without her putting up a fight, right? Sage sought out Blair and told her she’d wear one of her dresses to the society dance — which would bring Blair more buyers – if in return Blair helped ruin the engagement. Blair agreed, but only ended up hurting herself in the end. Sage found that Blair’s plan wasn’t going to work and ended up coming up with one of her own – even managing to trick the evil Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) along the way. Which leads us to…
#2 Georgina Has Serena & Dan’s Sex Tape
Uh oh! Georgina managed to get her hands on Derena’s sex tape and was threatening to leak it to Dan unless he released the third chapter of his expose. But she should have watched out where she revealed her treasure because Sage got her hands on it which led to a whole bunch of craziness. As Nate (Chace Crawford) said, the outcome ended up being worse than the night he punched Carter Baizen.
#3 Steven Breaks Up With Serena
As Sage makes way down the high society runway, images from Serena and Dan’s sex tape flash behind her. If you recall, the tape was from when Dan and Blair were still dating, so needless to say this ticked a lot of people off. Blair slapped Dan (well-deserved), told Serena off, and Steven eventually ended up dumping her. So sad.
#4 Nate Dumps Sage
We can all finally breathe a collective sigh of relief. Nate has finally left Sage – and hopefully it’s for good this time. How he couldn’t see through her evilness before is beyond me!
Overall, it was a good episode, but I was definitely hoping for some more Chair action. Don’t you agree?
Serena may have lost Steven, but something tells me this is just the beginning of her romance with Dan that will eventually last for the rest of their lives.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do YOU think Dan and Serena will end up together forever? Weigh in and vote below!
